LAHORE: People are enjoying pleasant weather as rain fell in Islamabad and in different areas of Lahore, such as Thokar Niaz Beg, Allama Iqbal Town, Township, Faisal Town, and various other places on Friday afternoon.
There were also reports of power cuts in different parts of the city at the same time.
The Met Office stated that westerly waves have arrived in the western regions of the country, covering most of the northern areas.
Rain, wind and thunderstorms were observed in various regions such as Naushki, Pishin, Harnai, Zhob, and Gwadar.
In the next 24 hours, the Met Office predicts rain, windstorms, and thunderstorms in several areas such as Chitral, Dir, Swat, Abbottabad, and Peshawar, with extensions to Gilgit-Baltistan and Kashmir.
Additionally, a long-term weather prediction suggests that there will be continued rain and thunderstorms in different areas of Punjab, including Murree, Galliyat, Islamabad/Rawalpindi, and surrounding regions, from Friday through Monday morning.
Multan, Dera Ghazi Khan and Bahawalpur are also forecasted to have rainfall and thunderstorms in the upcoming days.
The PMD has predicted additional rainfall, including localized heavy showers and hailstorms, in Lahore and different areas of Punjab for the next 2-3 days due to a westerly wave prevailing over the western and upper regions of the country.

During these atmospheric conditions, areas such as Murree, Galyat, Islamabad/Rawalpindi, and several cities in Punjab like Lahore, Faisalabad, Multan, and Bahawalpur are expected to have rain, wind, and thunderstorms.
Furthermore, there are forecasts of landslides occurring in Murree and Galyat between the 27th and 29th of April.
The severe weather conditions could bring dangers like severe winds, hail, and lightning, which could impact people, agriculture, and various structures like solar panels and power lines.
Lahore is anticipated to experience high temperatures between 35-37 degrees Celsius during the upcoming days.
