The beloved country singer “La Rancherita de Chanco,” also known as Ivana Pino Arellano, tragically passed away in a car accident. This devastating event occurred just one day after she celebrated her 32nd birthday with family and friends.
Photos taken at the scene reveal the singer’s vehicle severely damaged and rolled over on the side of the road. It appears the car had toppled over and come to rest against a wall.
The images show an orange sheet draped over the rear of the wrecked car. The somber sight is a stark reminder of the unfortunate event that led to her untimely death.
The accident took place on the M-80 highway near the town of Pelluhe, in the Maule Region of central Chile. While the exact cause is still under investigation, it is believed that Ivana lost control of her vehicle due to wet road conditions.
Unfortunately, Arellano succumbed to her injuries at the scene, and her passenger sustained severe injuries.
Arellano was not only a rising star in the country music scene but also a cherished member of her community. She leaves behind four children and a grieving community.
In her hometown of Chanco, she had amassed a considerable following thanks to her beautiful voice and captivating stage presence. Her talent combined traditional Latin American sounds with modern influences, creating a unique and heartfelt musical style. She often wove together elements of folk, pop, and indie music, making these classic genres feel fresh and relevant.
Her songs, filled with sincere lyrics and rich vocals, often centered around themes of love and personal growth, resonating deeply with her fans.
The Municipality of Chanco confirmed the heartbreaking news in a touching statement shared on social media. They remembered her as an “unforgettable figure whose charisma will resonate eternally in our lives.”
“To us, the name ‘Ivana’ will always represent joy and happiness in its most basic form,” they wrote. “Your passing leaves a vacuum that cannot be filled, but your legacy will live on and serve as a constant reminder of the kindness and beauty in your heart and spirit.”
The local council echoed these sentiments, praising Ivana for her dedication to public service and her unwavering love for her family. “Ivana personified the spirit of public service with passion and love, always ready to help others and find solutions even in the most difficult moments,” they said.
“Her spouse and children were the most significant aspects of her life and the driving force behind her actions,” they added.
Fans, family, and friends gathered to pay their final respects as she was laid to rest at Curanipe Parish Cemetery in Pelluhe on June 17.
“We appreciate you, Ivana, for providing us with days full of light and peace,” the Municipality of Chanco expressed in their heartfelt message.
