Popular Pizza Restaurant Closed Its Doors Permanently

Three Joes sourdough pizza has permanently shut its restaurant in Lincoln’s Cornhill Quarter, following on from at least two other closures from the independent chain.

Three Joes was formed in 2017 by Tim Hall, Emma Blackmore and Peter Bruton. It first opened in Lincoln in October 2022, but the impact of the cost of living crisis has proved too much for the business.

A notice on the door of the Lincoln restaurant says: “Unfortunately, this site is now closed permanently. We would like to thank our team and customers for their support.”

Two sites – Chichester and the company’s original restaurant in Fareham – closed earlier this year. According to the Three Joes websites, the only locations which remain open are Meadowhall and Winchester.
A spokesperson for Three Joes said: “We have made the difficult decision to close our Three Joes restaurant in Lincoln this week.

“Unfortunately, like many other restaurants in the current cost of living crisis, we have struggled to make this venue viable. We are hugely grateful to our team who have worked so hard since we opened.

“We would like to take this opportunity to thank all our lovely customers of Lincoln for their support and kindness.

“Our nearest Three Joes is in Meadowhall, Sheffield and is ready to welcome our guests any time they need a delicious sourdough pizza.”

When previously confirming the closure of its restaurants in Chichester and Fareham back in April, Three Joes reportedly said, at the time, that “our other venues continue to go from strength to strength.”

It is understood that a further site on Cambridge’s Bridge Street, which only opened in August last year, has also shut down.

According to the Three Joes websites, the only locations which remain open are Meadowhall and Winchester.
