Where It All Began

Savannah was born in Melbourne, Australia, in 1971 while her father’s career had temporarily taken the family there. When they moved back to the United States in 1975, she was still a young child. Her parents settled in Tucson and chose this house as their family home.

The single-story residence became the backdrop for countless family memories—Sundays spent at Casas Adobes Baptist Church, afternoons flying kites with her father, and the peaceful, close-knit family life Savannah has often spoken about with affection.

She later attended the University of Arizona before becoming one of the nation’s best-known television news anchors. Even so, the Catalina Foothills home remained the place where her story began, and Nancy continued living there throughout the years.

Constructed in 1969, the home sits on a one-acre lot surrounded by the Sonoran Desert landscape in Tucson’s prestigious Catalina Foothills neighborhood. The residence offers 3,776 square feet of living space, including five bedrooms and four-and-a-half bathrooms.

The Guthrie family originally purchased the property for $85,000. According to current property records, it is now valued at nearly $1.1 million, reflecting both its spacious design and its desirable location.

She Nearly Sold the Home Before Deciding to Keep It

Property records indicate that Nancy placed the house on the market in 2007 with an asking price of $950,000. By that summer, the listing price had been reduced to $875,000. However, by October of the same year, the property had been removed from the market.
