Devastating footage shows Céline Dion suffering symptoms of crippling illness years before diagnosis

It was originally shown in one of Céline Dion’s older movies, but devastating new footage of her afflicted with the debilitating Still Person Syndrome (SPS) has allegedly surfaced.

In a courageous and moving Instagram video posted in 2022, the famous singer initially revealed the news that she had been diagnosed with the incurable autoimmune neurological disease.

Since then, a lot has been said about Dion’s career, since the artist is adamant about getting back into singing in some way. Some sources have presented a gloomy picture, and the 56-year-old was compelled to cancel every date of her globe tour in 2023 and 2024.

During an emotional discussion on adapting to a life without performing as she has for the past few decades, Dion appeared on the brink of tears in a trailer for her new documentary that was published last month.

The Heart Will Go On singer came clean about her battle with Stiff Person Syndrome earlier this week, saying that she had been battling it in private before going public with her diagnosis.

She spoke frankly with Today’s Hoda Kotb about how, at some point, it became “too much” to keep her sickness a secret.

So, what’s the deal? I possess what? It was all a mystery to us. “I should have paused and taken the time to figure out what it is, because it’s not enough,” she said.

Just like me, my spouse was trying to save his own life. Despite the fact that I felt my body slipping away and was clinging to my own aspirations, I had to hide, raise my children, and attempt to play the hero.

I couldn’t bear the weight of lying. I could no longer bear to lie to the people who had a hand in my success up to this point.

The artist went on to say that SPS, which causes involuntary muscle spasms, is like “somebody is strangling you.”

Says it feels like someone is pushing on her larynx and pharynx.

Here we see Céline, who was only 40 years old at the time, talking to her doctor about vocal “spasms” and “cold like symptoms” in newly discovered footage from her 2010 documentary, Céline: Through the Eyes of the World.

The singer laments her current neck pain and its impact on her ability to relax her vocal chords and perform effective vocal exercises in the video.

My big issue isn’t that I have trouble with the highs; rather, I’m experiencing spasms in my ears, eyebrows, and body. Listen, I’m telling you—I’m going to switch shortly.

With addition, Dion confided with her tour crew about her continuing battles.

“To cut a long story short, I was so spasmed out and my breathing was too rapid by the time I went to the meet and greet,” the celebrity explained.

I continued on with the concert even though it hadn’t begun yet because I was so overwhelmed with greeting everybody that I forgot to breathe.

Also, that rendition of “I drove all night for the first time” was completely out of key. The night before last, I was spitting out mucous despite my best efforts.

As Céline Dion fights her present struggle, know that she is in our thoughts.
