Pizza Restaurant Closed Its Location Permanently

Mod Pizza, a well-known fast-casual restaurant chain, has recently closed its location on Blue Lakes Boulevard in Twin Falls, Idaho. The closure was announced through a simple sign placed in the window, thanking customers for their support over the years but providing no further explanation.

Mod Pizza has been experiencing a significant number of closures across the United States. Recently, 27 locations have shut down, including several in California. These closures are part of a broader strategy to contend with underperforming locations within the chain, which previously consisted of over 500 units. There is some speculation that closures are related to recent minimum wage increases, however, the company clarified that several factors contributed to the decision and that underperformance was the underlying reason for the closures.

The closure of the Mod Pizza outlet in Twin Falls is not an isolated event in the local restaurant scene. It follows the recent announcement of the closing of Wok N Grill, a long-standing Chinese restaurant in the area, set to close on May 13, 2024.
Despite recent closings, the restaurant landscape in Twin Falls also shows signs of vitality with several openings. The Iconic Turf Club recently reopened as a Steak House and Craft Cocktail Lounge, a Mexican restaurant from Burley has opened a branch in Twin Falls, a Wing Stop is scheduled to open near Walmart before the year’s end, and a new eatery recently opened in The Magic Valley Mall food court.
