Dog Abandoned Outside Burger King With Note From Struggling Owner, Shelter Says

A dog in Illinois will hopefully be reunited with his struggling owner after being found abandoned outside a Burger King.

According to South Suburban Humane Society, the pup was left outside the burger joint in Monee with a note reading, “Hi I’m King. I’m a good boy, love to hug and kiss. Birthday July 22, 2018.”

“Tonight we had a citizen find this sweet doggy with this note attached to its collar. Broke our hearts,” the Monee police wrote on Facebook.

Officers later explained that King’s owner had “happened upon hard times,” and a family member left the dog somewhere they knew he would be found.

A humane society staff member has agreed to foster King until his owner can find a new place to live so she can be reunited with her beloved dog.

“Every single day, every one of us has a choice to choose empathy and kindness. SSHS is grounded in both and we choose kindness whenever possible (it’s always possible),” the shelter posted.
